ROM's "web to wireless" technology provides fleet managers with a AVL/T solution that keeps track of where the vehicle is, what direction it is going, what speed it is traveling, and records and reports additional vital information. By pre-selecting parameters, customers choose the circumstances under which a vehicle will report.

Features can include the following:

  • Automatic Collision Notification (ACN)

  • Emergency Response/Panic Button

  • Location-based roadside assistance

  • Remote door unlocking

  • Out of boundary notification

  • Remote vehicle disabling

  • Stolen vehicle tracking

  • Driver paging

  • Vehicle performance monitoring

  • Vehicle usage monitoring

  • In car navigation via a Palm or Windows CE device

  • No end-user software required (besides a web browser)

"No investment in server hardware, software and high priced talent is required, allowing you to concentrate valuable resources on your core business"

Benefits

  • Geo-fencing: geographical boundaries for vehicles with “out of boundary notifications”

  • Locate overdue vehicles whose location will be displayed on digitized maps with additional information such as speed, time and the heading the vehicle is travelling in

  • Disable vehicles that are

    • Overdue

    • Out of boundary

    • Late payment

  • Monitor driving behaviour such as excessive speeding, which increases damage risks and reduces the lifetime of the vehicle

  • Automated scheduling of vehicle maintenance

  • Be notified when your car alarm has been activated

Designed to meet your needs

The MicroCom module was designed with an open architecture allowing the end users to apply "web to wireless"  technology to many applications. The MicroCom module can easily be retrofitted to almost any monitoring, measuring and sensing equipment. Along with ROM's technical staff, end users will be able to customize  our "web to wireless" technology to meet even the most challenging problems at hand.

Availability

Presently available throughout North America, including most of Canada and Mexico (with South America in the works), ROM’s "web to wireless" technology is an alternative to traditional monitoring systems which are significantly more expensive, as they require dedicated phone lines for each piece of monitored equipment along with manned call centres.
